SCROLL

Nayanika is a kinetic art piece that combines mandala or chakra patterns with wood materials. The mandala patterns are etched onto two wooden plates, which are then mounted with a counter-rotating mechanism, creating dynamic aesthetic movements. The choice of wood as the primary material is based on its closeness to daily life, such as in architecture, furniture, and interiors.
This work has undergone three development versions:

  1. First Version: Featuring dark chrome brown color.
  2. Second Version: Utilizing wood material with added RGB lighting.
  3. Third Version: Created in a smaller size.
The name “Nayanika” means beautiful eyes that exude charm and is inspired by the design patterns adopting mandala or chakra art, while the overall form draws inspiration from the movement of a spinning disc.
